Answer:-

LDP, or Low-Density Polyethylene, is a branched polymer derived from ethene. Its polymer chains are loosely held together, which imparts exceptional flexibility to the material. As a result, LDP finds extensive use in the production of extruded films and sheets, primarily for packaging applications and household items such as squeeze bottles, attractive containers, and more. These applications benefit from LDP’s low tensile strength and high flexibility.

On the contrary, HDP, or High-Density Polyethylene, is a linear polymer also obtained from ethene. Its polymeric chains are closely packed, making HDP significantly stiffer than LDP and endowing it with high tensile strength and hardness. Consequently, HDP is the preferred choice for manufacturing items like toys, household articles including buckets, dustbins, bottles, pipes, laboratory wares, and various other objects where superior tensile strength and stiffness are essential.
